The Glorious Mistake- Marriage

Three years of grooms’ search and her father would never get tired of scanning a hundred profiles every day. Despite seven failed endeavors, he still had his spirits high and rigorously got himself involved in the process. From calling the prospective groom’s parents to speaking to the groom to shuttling between profiles to identify the right match for his daughter,  he did it all. His efforts were futile. She had no intention to get married.

Out of blue, a profile popped up with a liked status. Though he brushed it off for the first time, destiny decided to play cupid and again, likes were exchanged. The father convinced his wife and daughter to just meet the family. Akhila reluctantly agreed. The first meeting turned out to be a turning point. The boy answered all the questions convincingly and upright told that he was a workaholic. She spoke for over an hour giving him inputs about travel. The likes were exchanged between families and thus began her courtship.

Sometimes, many things can get haywire, but hold on, the dusk progresses to become a beautiful dawn.

For the first meeting, she asked him to meet her near her workplace. They started out with hot chocolate. It escalated to alcohol, beef, and everything they desired. She was his open notebook, he was her confidante.

His inability to flirt, her bubbly nature, their escapades to places just adorned their relationship. He respected her, looked up to her with dignity while falling in love with her. She found reasons to talk to him, encouraged him to get comfortable and started falling in love with him. In a couple of months, they were engaged.

Three months to the wedding, they built their paradise. From deciding chores to planning a household, they spoke every night and met every day. Parents saw them falling in love and courting like they were in a relationship. As the days crawled to the big day, she would often cry about leaving her parents, while he would comfort her. He held her close.

You find love when you don’t want it, it shows you how to go on and never quit.

On the night before the wedding, she saw him and gestured him to meet her. They spent their night together wondering how the married life would treat them. He was confident, she was not. He had magnetic energy which drew her into his circle. He cajoled her with happy snippets. It dawned upon them that marriage was just the first chapter of their glorious mistake. But they were glad they committed it
